Q was founded in October 1986 and was voted magazine of the year 2012. It is the UK’s most bought music magazine and is trusted to give the truth and give positive reviews about artists and their work. They also get exclusive access to the ‘biggest stars in rock and roll’. The median age of people who by Q is 32 years old and they believe that their audience is the youngest out of any monthly music magazine; the gender split is around 70% male and 30% female. Q also caters for all platforms of media such as phone, tablet, computer and physical copies. Q even has its own radio station because of the success it’s had which an average of 162,000 people tunes into every week.

Q also interacts with its audience through social media in which it has round about 60,000 followers on twitter and 30,000 Facebook likes they also have 20,000 email subscribers.  They use these to help write articles in their magazines as if someone says something online they may want to use it as a quote or question in an article. And considering they have 350,000 people subscribed it gives a large pool of questions to pick from.
