Audience/ fonts mood board

Questionnaire results.

I made a questionnaire to see what people would want from a college magazine. Half of the people asked were males and the other half were female. 100% of the people asked did not read the college magazine. 40% of the people asked said they wanted the magazine produced ever half term and 50% said they wanted it produced every month. We asked how much they were willing to pay for the magazine, 30% said they would pay 50p for the magazine and 70% said they want it to be free. The most popular things for us to put in the magazine would be things like music, info on the college and new job opportunities. The most popular colours to be used on the magazine were: blue, yellow, red and black. 40% of people asked said they would want people on the front cover of the magazine and 35% of people said they would like students work featured on the front cover.

Location Props and costumes

For my magazine used only facilities provided by the college. I used the room used for photography as it was dark and that is what I wanted for my magazine. I had one of my friends be 'Jake Turner' for this and i gave him a guitar so he would look the part. I also trying a few different angles for my pictures to give variety and i also couldn't use the same picture for all three of my pieces.
On the contents page of this edition of Q, at the top of the page is the white Q with the red background which is also on the front cover, the colour scheme is black, red and white, which is most likely the same as the front cover as this is a rule as to not confuse the reader.
There are sub-headings down the side of the page to make it easy to find what you want to read with the most important article at the top. These also give a little more information about all the articles in the magazine. Again, the larger fonts show the more important titles and the smaller text shows the smaller articles. There is use of red to show the page number which will grab the reader’s attention and also be able to help the reader so they don’t have to search for the page. The picture of James Blunt is a close up in which he is staring straight down the camera so as to grab the reader’s attention to the picture is this is a use of direct address, and this would also be likely because the main headline is probably about him.

There is also a small red arrow in the bottom right of the page telling the reader to turn the page as that is where the articles start. This isn’t particularly necessary but is there as a small graphic feature.
