Q Magazine is a monthly music magazine published in the UK by the Bauer
publishing company. the first issue was published in 1986 and has grown
massively since. It’s popular with the age group of 20 to 30 years old
There are 2
different fonts on this cover, but to make the cover look more interesting
these fonts are on different sizes depending on the importance and size in this
issue. The main headline is the same font as the selling lines, but is much
larger, but the word ‘Foo’ is bigger as Q have thought about the rule of 3rds
and have made that bigger as to grab the attention of the reader. Dave Grohl’s
head is partly covering the masthead but again because the magazine is so well
known it won’t make much difference.
The cover of
this magazine is made up of 5 colours. They are red, white gold, grey and black.
Q uses these colours in most editions of their magazine as this means that the
style is easily recognizable to people who read Q. Red is the main colour on
this cover as it is the colour of the square in which the letter ’Q’ is placed and
this means that it is easily recognised.
The gold on this cover is used to attract attention to other, smaller headlines.

The main
image is a close-up of Dave Grohl, who is shouting with fire in his mouth and
the band is also standing in his mouth. This quickly grabs the attention of the
reader and shows them what the article is about. The main image is associated
with the main headline “FOO FIGHTERS” as Dave Grohl is the lead singer of the
band. In the top-right hand corner there is an offer which offers a “Free
Exclusive Unheard Foos Album”, which is also to do with the main headline.
