Acoustic is a well-known music magazine, which is mainly aimed at acoustic guitar musicians of an age of 25 up. Overall, the cover uses 4 colours: red, orange, black and white, the colours orange and white are the main colours to be used on this cover. Acoustic uses orange, and ensures that it stands out against the white background. Orange and black are good colours for this, as it grabs the attention of the reader and stands out from the lighter background. The masthead is in orange which brings out the name ‘Newton Faulkner’.  The Masthead is in the largest font on the page and is in orange. It is also partly covered by the Main Image, but because of the magazines so well know the publishers can afford for the masthead to be partially covered as it can still be read.
Acoustic magazine mainly have articles about acoustic musicians hence the name.  There are a lot of big names on the front cover to grab the attention of the reader, as people would like to see what’s going on with their favourite artists. There is also a quote on the right to pique the reader’s interest in the article, as they will want to find out what the “business” is.
In all, the cover uses 5 fonts and 3 images: the main image, an image of the album and an image in the top-right corner. The main image is of Newton Faulkner whose head obstructs the Masthead. He’s dressed casually and has his dreadlocks holding his guitar connoting he likes to be different and maybe slightly odd.

The barcode is an unimportant part of the magazine and is tucked away in the bottom right, along with the £4.95 price, and date of the issue: November 2013.
