This feature article is from Q magazine which is about how Ed Sheeran
became famous. The target audience appears to be people in their teens as this
is the target audience of his music so the article will be trying to replicate
that. The title of the article is also a pull quote which is quite a common thing in magazines now, I also happened to notice that the drop capital in this article happens to be in the same style as the masthead of the magazine. The pull quote being ‘I’m bring ginger back!’ draws attention to the word ginger as in the mainstream being ginger isn’t shown as being ‘cool’ which is why it’s been highlighted in red because he’s trying to bring ginger hair back into fashion.
The gutters between the columns are fairly regular as it is set out in two simple columns which makes the article much easier to read.
Also the way
that the double page is set out, in my eyes, is very pleasant to look at as
there is a picture that covers the whole double page but Ed is situated to the
left as he is the main feature on the left hand page which the pull quote/title
is which links the two together so that we know he said it. And on the right
hand page we have the interview itself.
The page
also has three different colours: red; black; and white. These are the three
main colours associated with Q and they complement each other well. Red and black
work well with white, which can draw the reader’s attention to the article as
the background id white and the other colours are on the white. They have used
it well because they are able to draw the reader’s attention through using a
picture of a famous person.
